The Little Way to Mordor

I think St. Therese would approve of Elrond's phrasing.

"Love proves itself by deeds, so how am I to show my love? Great deeds are forbidden me. The only way I can prove my love is by scattering flowers and these flowers are every little sacrifice, every glance and word, and the doing of the least actions for love." - Saint Therese of Lisieux

"The road must be trod, but it will be very hard. And neither strength nor wisdom will carry us very far upon it... Yet such is oft the courses of deeds that move the wheels of the world: small hands do them because they must, while the eyes of the great are elsewhere." - J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring
